A blend of French mérinos d'Arles from Provence and black Portuguese merino from Alentejo valley raised with a concern for animal welfare and the valorisation of their wool. All the manufacturing stages of this yarn are carried out in a short circuit to guarantee traceability and minimal environmental impact.
Made up of three well-twisted strands, Gilliatt is a round, soft and satisfying fluffy yarn which is perfect for about everything from ocean of jersey to intricate cables. Being forgiving and resistant to splitting, it makes an excellent choice for beginners.
Colours range from natural blends of brown and white fleeces to subtly heathered and dyed in fleece colours.
Not superwash treated. Handwashing, without rubbing or stretching, in warm water with a mild detergent recommended.
Very dark or particularly saturated colours are more likely to bleed during blocking. Repeat rinse bath if you find excess dye in the first wash. Swatch test recommended when dark/saturated colours are knitted with lighter colours.
